Sorghum Biofuels: A Route to Commercialization in North Carolina

Funding Recipient: North Carolina State University Biological & Agricultural Engineering Department

Award Amount: $149,488

Researchers, in collaboration with Avoca, Inc., evaluate industrial-scale production of sorghum-based biofuels from feedstock production as well as logistics to recover the final product. Successful completion provides baseline data for biomass processing and biorefinery operations to generate biofuels in NC, strengthening participation in future endeavors and advancing commercialization.
