By the time 2011 middle school students graduate from high school, it is likely that the cars they will be driving will use North Carolina-made biofuels.  Outreach to middle and high schools over the coming years will enable these students to make informed choices at the pump and understand the changes to the landscape as today's hayfields become tomorrow's energy grasslands. 

The Biofuels Center addresses outreach to middle and high schools in the following ways:

• Field trips by classes to North Carolina's Biofuels Campus. Please contact the Center to schedule a visit.
• Visits to schools by staff when possible
• Partnering and interaction with educational organizations and initiatives
• Development of a Biofuels 101 short course (under way)
